Comparative proteomics and biomarker discovery using GE Healthcare 2D-DIGE technology.

ITSI-Biosciences utilizes state-of-the-art instrumentation and software coupled with extensive training and hands-on experience to offer a wide range of proteomics services which include (but not limited to) protein expression profiling using the two-dimensional difference in gel electrophoresis technology. Most biological and clinical samples can be analyzed, including, tissue homogenate, cell lysate, whole blood, serum, plasma, purified proteins and formalin-fixed paraffin embedded samples. The goal of ITSI-Biosciences is to assist scientists with their research by helping them perform comparative proteomics at the global level and characterize differentially expressed proteins. Proteins of interest can also be further characterized by western analysis and immunohistochemistry.

Cell/tissue lysate, serum, plasma and protein isolates are shipped to ITSIBIO, where proteins are isolated, quantified, qualified and analyzed by 2D-DIGE. After in gel analysis to identify differentially expressed proteins, candidate spots are picked and processed in robotic workstations and identified by mass spectrometry.
